Spring Fashion Trends

Is your wardrobe looking a bit dull and boring after winter? Ditch the woolly jumpers and dark colours, and get ready for the new season with our spring fashion trends. Update your clothes and accessories for a fresh look this spring, taking inspiration from the catwalks and streetstyle trends. Whether you love bright colours, pastel shades, luxury fashion or classic cuts, we’ve got all bases covered!

Off the Shoulder

Off the shoulder tops and dresses are the perfect way to flash a little flesh this spring without baring all. Look for a v-neck dress with full skirt for a fun vintage ‘50s vibe, and get extra fashion points if it’s gingham print! For a more sophisticated look, opt for a “Bardot” style top which is cut straight across the shoulders at the neckline. Channel Brigitte Bardot’s effortless chic style with an off the shoulder black top paired with a pencil skirt or high-waisted ankle grazer trousers.

Orange

This season’s big colour is definitely orange. Whether you go for a full on head-to-toe outfit, a couple of subtle accessories, or just a pop of bright lipstick, you need to have some orange in your wardrobe this spring. If you’re not brave enough to rock a neon orange dress, opt for a few bright accessories instead. A pair of bright orange heels will add instant style to a little black dress, and a scarf in sunny orange and yellow shades can easily add life to an otherwise boring white t-shirt and jeans. Orange also looks great contrasted with other bright colours, such as turquoise or purple; look for a big statement necklace which merges these colours together for a chic on-trend accessory.

Sports Luxe

Sports Luxe is back again for Spring/Summer 2014. This trend takes the classic shapes and styles of sportswear and adds a touch of high fashion to create wearable, stylish pieces. Think bomber jackets embellished with sequins, silk drawstring sweatpants, and racerback crop tops. Pair with a slouchy tee for a relaxed but stylish weekend outfit, or add a pair of heels to dress the outfit up for night time. Choosing pieces with luxury fabric is key to getting the sports luxe trend right; make sure to avoid jersey or spandex and stick to silk, leather and sheer chiffon instead.

Pastels

Pastel shades are always popular during spring, and this year they’re bigger than ever. Keep things ladylike by taking inspiration from the catwalks and donning a pastel twin set, or pair a lace skirt with a pretty pastel cashmere cardigan. Choose whichever shade you like, or mix and match a few, as long as they’re ice-cream hues; think mint choc chip, strawberry, butterscotch and raspberry ripple. Add in some cute lavender, peach and lemon shades and you’re good to go! Pastels work best with light colours so save them for a sunny day and wear with crisp white basics and bare legs.

What do you think of these fashion trends for spring 2014? Will you be trying any of these looks out for yourself?
