Ways To Tidy Up Your Cluttered Wardrobe

There is something therapeutic when it comes to arranging your clothes. Especially when they are all in a pile at the bottom of your wardrobe. Furthermore, we all know that not everything needs to go in there. Only certain items need to be hung up and the rest can go in a nice pile. Here is your step-by-step guide on how you can rearrange that cluttered wardrobe of yours.

Empty Your Wardrobe Out

We are going to start right from the beginning as that is the best place to start. Understanding all the clothes you have in your wardrobe is essential. Moreover, you need to know what clothes you are going to keep and what clothes you are going to sell/ take to the charity shop. It is pointless keeping old clothes if you know you will never wear them again.

When emptying all of your clothes, you need to create several piles on your bed. One pile will be for shirts, another for jumpers, another for pants, etc. Whilst you are emptying your wardrobe, create a pile of any unwanted clothes that you may want to throw away or even sell them. That way, you know what clothes you are putting back in your wardrobe and if you need to buy any to replace them.

There are only some clothes that you need to hang so don’t be wasting any hanger space. For example, your jeans and hoodies/ sweaters don’t need to be hung up. They can be carefully folded and placed on your shelves in your wardrobe or drawers if you have any. Same with your nightwear, you don’t need to hang that up. Pants, t-shirts, shirts, suits and anything else that you can think of should be placed on hangers.

Organise Each Section

Once you have got all of your clothes out of your wardrobe, you will want to organise each section. This can be done in a couple of ways. For example, I like to put all of my suits together, then my shirts, t-shirts, pants then jackets. However, some people may wish to organise it by brand, putting their favourite Gods Gift clothing next to other luxury streetwear items. Others may want to arrange them by colour.

If you are ordering them by colour, you want to go with your lightest colours first whilst gradually getting darker. Ordering your clothes in colour order is surprisingly satisfying and is something that you should do. Once you have arranged all of your clothes in colour order, we suggest that you order those colours by length. If you have a selection of dresses, arrange them by going from largest to smallest.

Make The Most Of Your Wardrobe

If you have two vertical storage areas where you can hang your clothes up with two shelves above them, make the most of it. However, if you only have space for hanging clothes then not to worry. Buy yourself some plastic containers which you can then store at the bottom of your wardrobe. Place your folded clothes in there so they are not left in a pile anywhere in your room. Another thing that you could buy is a build-your-own shoe rack that you could also place in your wardrobe. Again, make the most of all of the space that you have in your wardrobe.
