X Factor
Big Band Night saw two of X Factor’s favourites go head to head on Sunday evening. The intense sing-off sparked much debate with the X Factor judges and audience. Hannah Barrett and Abi Alton were the cream of the X Factor crop, and it’s not difficult to see why – both are incredibly different artists but equally as talented with their strong vocals and styles.
Abi was first to perform with her piano version of Ed Sheeran’s Lego House. Her beautiful rendition of the hit song was arguably one of her best performances of the series. And after receiving an overwhelming applause from the audience, Abi left the stage in tears.
Abi’s incredible performance was difficult to top; and Hannah pulled out all the stops to match it with her version of Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. After a huge build-up of both performances, Abi was distraught when she was sadly voted off the show. Even though the supermarket worker had the best performance of the series, this wasn’t enough to save her on Sunday night.

Strictly Come Dancing
After impressing us for weeks with his moves on the ice. Entertaining TV chef Dave Myers was the sixth contestant to be voted off the show. The star opted to dance the Tango to I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers. Although Dave sported a tartan kilt to continue the Scottish theme, this little number sadly wasn’t enough to save him on Saturday night.
The Hairy Bikers star battled with actor Mark Benton in a head-to-head dance-off, as Mark danced the Rumba to Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger. The judge’s decision wasn’t made lightly, as they thanked Dave for being so entertaining throughout the show. Dave’s departure left audiences shocked and it’s safe to say he’ll be missed on the show.
Another shock revelation on Saturday was the injury of Natalie Gumede; the Corrie star collapsed during her rehearsals and was unable to dance as a result. The actress was immediately fast-tracked to next week’s show, so no doubt there will be a catch up with the star then.
