When thinking of sweet recipes to try at home, we don’t usually think about frozen yogurt. This is a great replacement for yogurt. It is very tasty, and it comes in different flavors, it is healthy and great for hot days at home.
1. Peach Frozen Yogurt
This mixture is amazing for a summer afternoon, or even to take out on a walk in the park while enjoying some amazing peach frozen yogurt.
16 ounces of coarsely chopped frozen peaches
1/2 cup of superfine sugar
1/2 cup of nonfat plain yogurt
1 tbsp of lemon juice
Combine peaches and sugar in a food processor until coarsely chopped. Combine the yogurt and lemon juice in a measuring cup. With the machine running, gradually pour the mixture through into feed tube. Process until smooth and creamy, scraping the sides down once or twice. Serve immediately.
2. Fast N’ Easy Frozen Yogurt
If time is commodity you are lacking, this recipe is perfect for you. It is a quick and easy way to make yourself some dessert without spending a lot of time on the making.
3 3/4 cups full-fat plain yogurt
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp kosher salt
With a whisk, mix the yogurt, salt, and sugar together in a medium bowl until the sugar dissolves. Freeze the mixture, pour it into an ice cream machine, and then place in an airtight container and leave in the freezer for 4 to 5 hours.
3. White Wine Frozen Yogurt
Make sure that the wine you choose for this recipe is very dry — the mixture we will be making is very sweet, so use dry wine to balance the flavors.
2 cups full-fat Greek yogurt, cold
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup dry white wine, cold
Lemon juice, to taste
Salt, to taste
Mix the yogurt with the sugar with a whisk until the sugar gets dissolved, add the white wine with the lemon juice, and add salt to taste. Pass the mixture on an ice cream machine, and then place in the freezer for 2 to 3 hours.
4. Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt
Strawberry is one of the most famous yogurt and ice cream flavors so it couldn’t be left out of this list. It has a refreshing, sweet flavor and is definitely worth a taste.
4 cups frozen strawberries
3 tbsp honey
1/2 cup plain yogurt (non-fat or otherwise)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Take a food processor and add the frozen strawberries, honey, and lemon juice. Process for 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy, or store in the freezer for future servings.
5. Vanilla Frozen Yogurt
Just like strawberry, when we refer to yogurt or ice cream we immediately think of three flavors, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. This mixture is great, and it doesn’t require many ingredients.
3 cups of nonfat Greek yogurt
2/3 of a cup of white sugar
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Mix the yogurt with the sugar and the vanilla extract, make sure the sugar dissolves and then store in the freezer for 1 hour. Take the mixture and pour it into the ice cream machine, then place in a container and freeze.
6. Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt
While it is not the lightest mix in the list, it is a tasty one, and it is unique, so give this a try for a brand new flavor.
2 cups plain or vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk of choice
1/2 cup peanut
1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract (if you use plain yogurt)
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
Mix all of the ingredients with a whisk or a blending machine until the mixture is smooth. The mixture can then be added to an ice cream machine and served soft or hardened in the freezer.
Even though most of these recipes do require you to have an ice cream machine, you can still make them without one. Just skip the ice machine step, place it in an airtight container, and then store in the freezer. I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as I do!
