Wolf of Wall Street actress Margot Robbie is fast becoming one of the most watched Hollywood starlets. Since her big screen hit with Leonardo DiCaprio we have watched her every style and beauty move and this movie star has come a long way since her Neighbours days.
At this year’s Oscars, Margot was spotted with newly dyed locks for her latest movie role and she instantly had heads turning with a beautiful shade of brunette. So here’s how to get the look at home.
Step 1:For Margot’s Oscar’s Makeup
the dramatic lip is the focus. So keep the rest of the face neutral – including the eyes. Opt for a medium coverage mattifying foundation, and add a subtle glow using a highlighter in key areas – the check bones, down the centre of the nose, and above the arch of the eyebrows. Keep eyes simple with a neutral shadow base and lashings of mascara.
Keep brows bold yet natural by using a powder shadow. Mac has a great range of shadows to use as an eyebrow filler whether you’re very fair or very dark.
For the lips, choose a deep wine red or a scarlet lipstick if pink tones suit you more. A perfect one for this look would be New CID’s I-Slick Luxurious Lip Colour in Decadence.
Step 2: Part your Hair Deep onto one Side
Top Tip: to find the perfect side parting, use the arch of your eyebrow and take your tail comb straight up into your hairline and part the hair there – this is the most flattering parting.
For the Hollywood waves you’ll need a large barrelled curling wand or tong, and take 1-2 inch sections of hair and wrap around the barrel starting from the top of the ear downwards. Leave the root section straight and sleek for this polished look.
Step 3: Once all of the Hair is Curled
be careful not to run your fingers through the curls as we don’t want to separate the curls. Margot’s look features a much defined curl so once the hair has cooled, spritz with a high hold and high shine hairspray to keep in place and add gloss. A fantastic spray is Paul Mitchell Freeze & Shine – it adds shine whilst completely freezing the look into place.
Top Tip: After you curl each section, using your fingers to keep the curl rolled and use a pin to secure. Wait until the curl has completely cooled down then take out the pin and release the curl. This will help to keep its shape longer.
Thickness and volume is key to Margot’s hair. The easiest way to achieve the look is with 100% human hair extensions to get long hair. The clip in variety is the quickest method so opt for a full head set – it will contain various widths for you to place around your head. Make sure you go for human hair too, as this means you can curl it just like your own hair as well as trimming the ends to the same length as your own hair to really give it that volumised look and feel.
