TV Stand Or Wall Mount: What's Right For You?

When it comes to installing your TV, you have two main choices: put it on a TV stand or hang it on your wall. Some people have a very difficult time trying to decide which option is the right choice for them, and the following information will let you know the pros and cons of both options to help you make the right choice.
TV STAND
Pro: You have storage.
A TV stand will give you a place to put all of your DVDs, DVD player, game consoles, remotes, cable boxes and anything else that you have hooked up to your television. You don’t need to try and find a place to put it all, and instead, everything will be in one centralized location.
Con: They take up space.
If you have a small space, a TV stand can take up a lot of room, making your space appear smaller. In order to hold your television, most stands are big and bulky and may not fit in well with the size of your room.
Pro: It’s easy to set up.
The only installation process required for a TV stand is to place your TV on it and then connect all the wires behind it. You don’t have to worry about drilling holes in your wall or trying to hide cords and wires.
Con: Your TV can fall over.
When your TV is simply sitting on a stand, it has the possibility to fall over. This can be very dangerous if you have small children in your home. Plus, if you have pets that are rambunctious, they may be the reason why your TV falls over.
WALL MOUNT
Pro: You don’t take up any floor space.
When your TV is mounted to the wall, you do not need to purchase a stand for it to sit on, which means that you don’t take up any floor space. If you have a small room, then a wall mount can be the perfect choice.
Con: You’ll need to find storage.
When your TV is mounted to the wall, you’ll need to find a place to store your DVDs, DVD player, cable box, game consoles and anything else that connects to your television. If you don’t put shelves nearby, then this will require you to purchase longer wires so that you can hook everything up and store it somewhere else.
Pro: It gives a sophisticated look.
TVs that are hooked up to the wall give a sense of style and sophistication to the room, especially when they’re hooked up correctly so that wires aren’t sticking out.
Con: They take time to set up.
Hooking up a wall-mounted television will take a bit longer than using a TV stand because you will need to drill the holes in your wall, ensure that it’s strong enough to hold the TV, ensure that it’s level and put the television exactly where you want it. Plus, if you want to hide the cords and wires, then this will require some additional work, or even hiring the help of a professional.
