California, The Open Road And The Ultimate American Vacation

There is so much to see and do in California, yet a great many tourists who visit this wonderful state tend to stick to the twin destinations of Los Angeles and San Francisco. And while these two cities are home to a stunning collection of landmarks and attractions, ignoring the rest of the region seems like a wasted opportunity.
The Golden State enjoys an excellent climate, so it’s an attractive option for tourists throughout the year. And with so many places that are worth a visit, you’ll want to see as much of it as possible. Because of this, hiring a car is a great idea, especially if you make the arrangements online, because you can save a substantial sum of money in the process.
If you’re a keen golfer, you’ll find a wonderful selection of courses in California, each of them offering an excellent test of your skills. Perhaps the most famous of them all is Pebble Beach, a stunning venue that features stunning views across Carmel Bay. Nearby you’ll also find the excellent Spyglass Hill and the beautiful Cypress Point.
Many of California’s beaches enjoy a worldwide fame, and first-time visitors are often amazed at the huge expanses of golden sands that are available. The Pacific Ocean provides the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of sunbathing, and even on the hottest days there is usually a pleasant breeze to help you stay cool.
There is something wonderfully iconic about making your way around California by road. On a summer’s afternoon, try putting the roof down and turning up the volume on the stereo, because nothing says West Coast quite like listening to The Eagles while the wind is blowing through your hair.
Many people choose to visit Los Angeles for a few days before heading north in a rented car. They get time to take in this wonderful city’s top attractions, and of course to take a tour of Hollywood, and then get the chance to sample life on the open road to see what this wonderful state has to offer.
By taking the coast road to San Francisco, the tourist can take in a number of highly impressive towns and cities. They include Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Salinas and San Jose. The best advice is to take it nice and slow, because you’ll find plenty of places which are calling out for you to stop. And of course, once you get to Frisco you can check out the many attractions of this quirky and charming city.
