How To Protect Your Skin From Sun Burns Naturally

Natural health is very important and everyone should practice it. This is because different artificial medications that have serious effects on the human body have been introduced into the market. Therefore, to ensure that you are not a culprit of one of the many effects of these artificial medications it is important for you to practice natural health. It is easy, cheap, and effective and has less or no side effects at all.

An example of a health problem that can be cured efficiently using natural products is sunburns. Sunburns are common and affect most people. Different artificial medications have been introduced to treat this health problem. These medications are appropriate though they have serious side effects. For instance, they affect one’s skin tone. They are also costly and are not easily available. Therefore, instead of using these artificial medications to protect your skin from the sun’s UV rays, it is advisable to use the following natural foods. These foods have been tested scientifically and have been found to be effective. Also, they are readily available and less costly.

Watermelons and Tomatoes

These two have lycopene. Lycopene is an antioxidant that reduces your skin’s sensitivity to sunburns. This means that if you eat watermelons and tomatoes often then your skin will be less affected by sunburns. It has been found that drinking tomato juice daily or taking 10 mg of lycopene daily for a month or so gives desirable results.

Pomegranate

This is an anti-oxidant that has been found to protect the skin from the harmful UV rays. Pomegranate inhibits changes in human cells exposed to UV rays. This therefore means that using this product appropriately for a particular length of time will help you reduce the harmful effects of UV rays on your skin.

Fatty fish

These types of fish have omega-3 fatty acid that has been found to reduce the effects of UV damage on human skin. On a study carried out in Britain it was found that people who ate fatty fish often were less affected by sunburns as compared to those who rarely ate these types of fish. Researchers who carried out this study also found out that taking 4000 mg of omega-3 fatty acid each day for three months reduces sunburn damage on people’s skins by 30 %.

Green tea

Several studies that have been conducted before show that green tea plays an important role in preventing sun burn. That is, people who take green tea often are less affected by sun burns as compared to those who do not take it at all. Drinking two cups of green tea each day has been found to reduce the effect of sunburns by 25% to 45 %.

There are many more natural foods that help in preventing the dangerous sun’s UV rays from affecting people’s skins. These foods have no effects or if they do they are not pronounced. It is good to know all natural foods that you can use to protect your skin from sunburns and choose foods that are more appropriate to your body or that will have no effect as some people react to some foods. If you react to some type of food it is advisable that you use another type of food that your body does not react with for effective results.
