5 Ways To Get Rid Of Tan Lines

We all love a good tan. Having that burnished brown complexion that looks so healthy and complements our clothing can be a compliment-getter. What we do not like, however, are tan lines. However, everybody does get them, so at least you are not alone!

Sure, they aren’t unsightly or something we cannot live with, but it’d be nice to have an even tan, wouldn’t it? You know how they say go big or go home? You could also say go full tan or go home. Here are some ways you can get rid of those tan lines and get the highly desired full tan you deserve.

Start With a Self-Tanner Lotion

There are tons of tanner lotions in the market. Get one for yourself and start using it days before an event. Self-tanning lotions are particularly useful when you have a wedding or event that requires you to expose those places with the tan lines.

One of the most recommended self-tanning lotions is Jergens Natural Glow. This works by gradually darkening the tan lines over the course of a few days. This is effective in making sure the tan lines stay faded and blend into the surrounding skin. It is great and natural looking too. If you do not have that much time, or prefer a quick non-orange tanner, try Clarins tanners for a couple of days. Just know that their effects are not as long lasting or as permanent as Jergens Natural Glow.

Exfoliate Frequently

This is basic skin care. However, exfoliating the tan line areas can also work well. Exfoliation helps get rid of dead cells from the body and evens out the untanned areas. You can either use a loofah, sponge, or body scrub for this. Some people advise against applying moisturizers or lotions. Others say it works.

We recommend you try both just in case. However, in our experience, applying moisturizers after about 20-30 minutes of drying helps fade the tan line and blends it with the surrounding skin.

Use Sunless Tanning Towelettes

Many people swear by L’oreal Sublime Bronze Sunless Tanning towelettes. You might want to try them too. All it takes is applying the towelette to the tan lines a few times. If you have an event, it is best to start using it two weeks before. Apply it twice a week at the most and then watch how well it improves that tan line.

Use a Spray Tan

If you want a fast acting solution; something you can use to cover the tan temporarily for an event or occasion, try using a spray tan. There are many natural looking spray tans that get the job done without leaving you with orange streaks. Try them out. While there are many spray tans, one with a good reputation is the Neutrogena Sunless Tan Spray. It is indeed very effective.

Get a Full Body Tan

If you have some privacy and don’t mind being in the sun, you may want to go for a complete body tan or nude sunbathing. This is a very sure way to get rid of the tan lines. A full body tan exposes all parts of your body to the sun and helps even the tan. If you cannot go hog-naked, try topless sunbathing.

That also works like gangbusters. This is usually the fastest route as results are evident within 2-4 days of consistent exposure. Just make sure that you have your sunscreen lotion with SPF 15 on before going out in the sun.

If you don’t mind, you can also use a tanning bed in a tanning salon. That also can do the trick and help get rid of those tan lines.
