Provide Health Insurance to my Employers? How Dare They!
Whenever some people hear the word “Obamacare” they immediately go into panic mode. After all, Obamacare is the new system that is designed to put employers out of business. It “forces” employers to give medical benefits to their hardworking employees. After all, the underpaid and under appreciated should appreciate just having a job, no matter how hard they work and no matter how meager their paychecks are, right? How dare they expect us to supply their medical benefits too! The nerve of the President trying to force us to have to do that! We gave them a job, should not that be enough?
Oh please, get real! First of all, you need your employees just as much as your employees need you! Can you imagine what would happen if all the workers just suddenly decided to walk off the job because they got tired of your attitude? You wouldn’t know what to do. Most likely, you would close the business immediately until you figure out your next move. If you are fortunate enough to find some other people to work in their place, perhaps you would begin to see thing differently. Perhaps you will come to understand that your employees are a valuable part of your company, and without them, there would be no business. You may even begin to see that a multi-millionaire like yourself should see to it that these valuable people, who spend so much time growing your business while they struggle to pay their own bills, have health coverage!
The Wealthiest Country In The World
America boasts about being the richest country in the world. We have more freedoms than other countries, including freedom of speech. That’s all well and good, right? Well why are we one of the few countries that do not give health benefits to every citizen? Why are multi-millionaires who own chains of stores such as Papa John’s so upset over the fact that they will have to begin supplying health insurance for their employees? They really ought to feel ashamed of themselves! Are they saying that they cannot afford it?
Well guess what? Supplying health benefits to your employees will not any any way take away your multi-millionaire status. Well, go figure, if they supply benefits to their employees, their valued employees will be more likely to remain their valued employees. They will not have to worry about the fact that their best employees may leave them for a better job that does supply benefits. The fact is, they will probably spend more money trying to find quality employees than they would if they keep their faithful employees for the long term. Wake up, Papa John’s and other mega chains.
Why The Sour Face?
Workers at Applebee’s have noticed a difference in their boss’s demeanor. This man was once pleasant and cheerful, always greeting his employees with a smile. Lately though, he has walked around as though he has a chip on his shoulder. Whenever an employee speaks to him, he now just walks away in a huff. One young employee greeted him with a smile and a “How are you this morning, sir?” From his reaction, one would have thought that the young man had asked him if he could poke his eye out. The boss gave him an angry glare and just huffed past him. A woman who had seen the whole thing said to the confused young man, “He’s been that way since the election.” “He’s mad because he will soon have to make sure that all of his hardworking employees have health insurance.”
