Humidity Is Like Living Your Life In A Cloud

Humidity. It can sap your energy, wreak havoc on business decor and make you wish for snow.
It’s a heavy, hot blanket that allows odors to linger and mold to prosper. And unless you work in a greenhouse, it’s an unwelcome visitor that simply refuses to leave until Mother Nature tells it to. And even then, it still might stick around in the corners of your basement.
Yes, humidity can make you feel like you’re living your life in a cloud–slow and lethargic, tired and dreamy, unmotivated. It’s guaranteed to drag you down. But there are ways to beat it, keep it at bay and make sure it doesn’t rain on your parade.
Here are three sure-fire ways dry out your business:
Rent a couple dehumidifiers. When there’s water in the air, you’ve got humidity. Dehumidifiers, which are available for purchase or rent at many hardware stores, suck the water out of the air and dry things out. They’re efficient, affordable and don’t take up a lot of space. If you’ve got spaces in your office or work space that frequently get humid, rent dehumidifiers, set them up and let them run. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference they will make in the quality of your air.
Keep it cool. Humidity is bad at any temperature, but it’s especially stifling when it’s hotter–inside or out. If you’re office or work space is humid, try lowering the temperature a few degrees. Obviously air conditioners are most effective for keeping the air cool. But if you don’t have an air conditioner, you can try other tricks. Try turning off unused lights and appliances. Doing these things this will make your air feel lighter even if it’s not. Combined with using dehumidifiers keeping it cool will actually improve the quality of your air–and give you some breathing room.

Move the air. There is a good reason most bars and resorts in the tropics use ceiling fans: Moving the air around is a great way to fight humidity. But even if you don’t have ceiling fans, you can use relatively inexpensive floor models to move the air. The key is to simply keep it moving. It’s a temporary solution to a problem that can stick around for weeks–especially in the summer. But at least you’ll find a bit of relief.
Humidity. It can be awful, but by using dehumidifiers and taking advantage of some of these tips you can beat it. Get your energy back and boost productivity in your office or work space- guaranteed.
