A smartphone can be used for a lot of things and can be irreplaceable if you’re always on the go and need to be connected not only through messaging and voice calls, but also video and the Internet. Most people use their phones sparsely, mostly for calls, texting, Web browsing, listening to music and watching the occasional clip on YouTube. But there is a growing number of power users who practically work on their phones – document editing, file uploads and sync, task and project management – they do it all on their trusty smartphone.
It is pretty hard to do all that with the wrong phone, however. There are plenty of handsets on the market at the moment, but not all of them are suitable for power users. With that in mind, here’s a short list of the best smartphones for those who really take full advantage of all the features and push them as far as they can go:
Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx. The Droid RAZR Maxx should be at the top of the list for anyone looking for a phone to be used to its full extent. The reason is that this phone has a massive 3300 mAh battery that can last up to 21 hours of continuous use – pretty much twice as long as any other smartphone. The other specs are also on a high level: the phone has a dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a big 4.3 inch AMOLED display, 4G LTE support, a micro SD card slot in addition to 32 GB of onboard memory and more.
Motorola Droid 3/Droid 4. The Droid 3 and Droid 4 are two of the best smartphones with a QWERTY keyboard, so if you need a phone for frequent and long typing, these are the top two models to look at. The phones are very similar in their hardware specs: both have a 4 inch display, dual core processor, a lot of internal memory, dual cameras with Full HD video recording, and more. The difference is in the 4G LTE radio on the Droid 4 and the design: the Droid 3 has a more industrial look with a metal housing, while the Droid 4 has a plastic (but still sturdy) body with the same design as the Droid RAZR – it’s up to you to decide which you like better.
Google Galaxy Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus is Google’s new smartphone and if you need to be able to fully control how your phone works and what it does, there’s no better choice than this one. The phone has a powerful processor, nice big display, all the features you can think of and of course, an unlocked boot loader that lets you install any custom ROM you want and modify it in any way.
HTC One X/One S. HTC’s new One series is definitely a hit, with the One S and One X being some of the best new smartphones to come this year. The One S is a very nice handset, with an aluminum body and all the features you might need, but if you really need a quad core processor, you’ll want to go for the One X – you’ll have to settle with a plastic housing in that case, though.
Samsung Galaxy Note. If you need a phone with a really big display, the Samsung Galaxy Note should be at the top of your list. Its massive 5.3 inch touch screen almost makes it unfit for pockets, but it’s worth it – the display is simply gorgeous and you can use it to take notes and work on the go as if you had a small tablet.
The above phones are pretty much the best on the market when it comes to high performance handsets full of features that can be fully used only by power users. Be sure to at least give them a go before deciding which smartphone to go with next.
