Why the name?
In 1902, the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad sold lots for the town site, and it was given its name after an old community in Alabama that was settled by Creek Indians. They were forced by the United States government to relocate to Oklahoma along the Trail of Tears in the 1830s. That new settlement was located several miles south of the present downtown Broken Arrow.
Public Schools
For families moving in, there is an excellent public schools system. A bond issue was just passed on February 10, which is a gift to the school district from the community. It will mean a long-term capital improvement plan that will provide the tools and facilities needed to help students be successful by providing outstanding educational opportunities.

Almost 3,500 full and part-time secondary and adult students take advantage each year of this campus’ extensive programs, laboratories, meeting rooms, and 330 seat auditorium.

One of the newest neighborhoods, this is an ideal community for first-time homeowners and new families because the prices range from $120,000 to $200,000 for 12 floor plans that measure from 1,174 to 2,698 square feet.
