Why the name?

In 1902, the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad sold lots for the town site, and it was given its name after an old community in Alabama that was settled by Creek Indians. They were forced by the United States government to relocate to Oklahoma along the Trail of Tears in the 1830s. That new settlement was located several miles south of the present downtown Broken Arrow.

It will mean a long-term capital improvement plan that will provide the tools and facilities needed to help students be successful by providing outstanding educational opportunities.
