Most Selling Brands in India – Car No 1

In India the majority of buyers prefer a car that has comfort features, adequate amount of power, great mileage and a price tag that fits the pocket.

Below is a list of brands that have contributed maximum to the Indian auto market recently.

The home-grown automaker Maruti entered the auto business in 1983 with the production of their first affordable car, Maruti 800, a 796 cc hatch back which was a rebadged version of the first generation Suzuki Alto. Maruti’s stables have been producing cars, non-stop, ever since. The 800 has successfully lived its several generations and the company reincarnated its model in Maruti Alto 800 India’s largest selling car.

Maruti has also strengthened its authority in the Indian car market with a few other models figuring in the top best-selling car brands in India, like their best selling compact sedan Dzire and its premium hatchback Swift. Even WagonR with its not so appealing design has been vastly revised by the company accumulating new buyers every month.

Hyundai has been the county’s second largest car maker with a total of 9 models on offering in the market. The company introduced its most affordable hatchback, the Eon, in 2011 and positioned the model against the Maruti Alto.
