Prioritising your health when you live a particularly busy lifestyle can be a challenge, so we are here with a few simple tips so that you can save time whilst also looking after your body to become the best possible version of you. From trying meal prep to morning smoothies and making the most of the weekends for healthy activities, you’ll soon notice a difference in how you feel both mentally and physically.
Try Meal Prep
Our first tip is to try meal prep! Trying to find the time to plan a whole weeks worth of healthy meals, buying all the ingredients, cooking everything and clearing up is unrealistic for many people with busy lifestyles. So, luckily there are plenty of companies out there who offer healthy ready meals delivered, that are packed full of nutrients and protein, so you can sit back and relax knowing you are fuelling your body with everything it needs.
You can pick how many meals a day you would like each week to suit your lifestyle. For example, if you know you’re going to be out for lunch one day with a friend or a client, then you can simply order one less lunch for that week.
Easy, delicious and nutritious, meal prep is one of the best ways to stay healthy and look after your body when you’re super busy.
Make Smoothies
Our next tip is a really simple one if you have 5 minutes free in the morning, which is to make smoothies! Smoothies are a great way to start your day off, as when you choose the right ingredients, they’re packed full of nutrients and make the perfect breakfast to set you up for the busy day ahead.
Start with a handful of frozen fruit (pineapple, mango and berries work really well) and half a banana. Then, add a teaspoon of chia seeds and ground flax seeds for healthy fats. Add some greens like spinach and kale (you won’t taste them) and then finish by filling your smoothie cup half way with apple juice and half way with water. Blend really well and enjoy! This takes a few minutes of prep each morning but it’s certainly worth it.
Do Healthy Activities Over The Weekend
Finding time to exercise is also likely to be a challenge, but you’ve got to get creative. Living a busy lifestyle can have quite an impact on both your physical and mental health, so making the time for some kind of exercise is key to looking after yourself. One way you can do this is by fitting in some healthy activities in your free time over the weekend!
This might be something like getting the train to a local nature reserve and exploring for the day. You could try some water sports like paddle boarding or surfing at your local beach. Try out a new gym class or sport with a friend. You’re of course going to want to let your hair down, but if you can find a balance by fitting in a healthy activity at some point over the weekend, you will certainly benefit from it!
