If you are an art aficionado, you will enjoy your time in Nice, France. Nice is one of the hotbeds of the French art scene and there are multiple places you should check out. The Musee d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain is the most well known art museum in the city. It features a huge gallery of work from student who attend the Nice School as well as art imported from around the world. If you are religious, the Musee National Message Biblique Marc Chagall offers bibically themed painting that draws in worshipers from all around the world.

Nightlife

Nice, France comes alive in the evening with a number of bars and restaurants that are always a lively, fun time. Blue Moon is a small little bar that is big on loud house music and dancing all night long. If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, the nightclub Guest features an upbeat soundtrack and caters to the upper echelon of the French social crowd. If you’re looking for a great DJ bar, you can’t go wrong with Le Smarties. This “retro electro” lounge as its referred to by the locals features partygoers who dress up in their best retro styles from the 1980s and 1970s and hit the dance floor to music that matches their attire.

Beaches and Spas

France isn’t as known for its beaches as other parts of Europe, but it turns out that a few of the best are located in Nice. If you’d like a private getaway, the Castel Plage offers its own private deck and restaurant. The Plage Beau Riage is another popular spot. It’s a great place to go and people watch while you relax under the shade of one of the many provided umbrellas and enjoy the surrounding art deco signage. Blue Beach is the only Nice, Beach open all year round and it is the most popular for those with an active lifestyle. Para-sailing and surfing are available here.

Perhaps you don’t want to go anywhere where you have to exert any energy at all? If so, Nice offers a number of day spas and saunas that you easily lose an entire day too. That said, there is one spa in particular that really stands out on most tourists’ “must visit” lists. The La Bulle offers an amazing list of 80+ different spa treatments and each of them are extravagant. Want a sample? One of their treatments is referred to as “choco-cooning”. Guests are invited to strip down to nearly nothing and then are allowed to roll around in creamy, melted chocolate. A masseuse will then come in and rub you down after you are covered. It’s said that the chocolate contains nutrients that are great for your skin. If that’s a little over the top for you, the Hi Hotel features a great view of the Riviera from within its massage room. It features a Turkish style spa that will keep you warm and cozy for as long as you care to stay.

Speaking of the Riviera, we can’t mention a trip to Nice, France without pointing out the number of riverboat tours available along the river. It’s a great romantic spot if you are traveling with a significant other.
