It’s also probably the world’s largest salad bar since the bar measures 50-ft. The restaurant dishes up hearty reasonably priced American food.
Naturally it’s open 24/7 because truckers don’t punch a nine to five clock like the rest of us. When there be sure to visit the trucker’s museum and showroom.
4. The Big Texan Steak Ranch, Amarillo, TX
When in Texas eat like a Texas trucker at The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas.
Located in what is arguably the steak and beef capitol of the world, the place is famous for its 72 inch steak dinner which is free for anyone that can wolf it down in under an hour.
This famous roadside joint dishes up over a half a million meals a year so you know it’s doing something right.
5. Space Aliens Grill and Bar, Fargo, ND
OK, it’s an alien themed restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Here’s why it’s worth going to: The ribs at this place are out of this world.
If there is life on other planets coming down to earth they would surely be stopping at this place for the world class ribs.
6. Gladys Knight and Ron Winans’ Chicken and Waffles, Lithonia, GA
We will dispense with the classic midnight train to Georgia puns that come to mind when entering this pip of a soul food restaurant co owned by Gladys Knight and Ron Winans.
The place serves up classic southern food in classic southern style and does a great job of it.
From the fried green tomatoes, through the smoked turkey wings and down to the incredible peach cobbler this place puts out the dishes that keep people coming back for more.
