The UK's Top Home Improvement Shows And Exhibitions

With the sheer number of home improvement, house building and interior design programmes across all channels of British TV, it would be a fair assumption to make that Brits love a spot of DIY. Whether simply updating the decor in one room of a home, or building a new home from scratch, the popularity of embarking on such projects does not seem to dwindle even in such a difficult economic climate. As a result of this, a large number of events, shows and exhibitions are popping up to offer advice and guidance to those planning to undertake projects of all shapes and sizes, and this post is going to take you through three of the best;

Grand Designs Live

Following on from the hit TV show which recently aired its 100th episode, Grand Designs Live offers the opportunity for you to go and speak to the experts, including show presenter Kevin McCloud, and discover ideas for updating every single room in your home.
With well over 500 exhibitors across seven different sectors, whether you are simply looking to redecorate, revamp or redesign an existing room or plan a project on a larger scale such as a renovation or self-build, there will be the necessary people on hand to provide advice and all the information you are likely to need to ensure you are well set for what is to come.
There are talks and seminars on everything from the use of technology within the home to how to design the perfect garden to reflect your preferred tastes and style, so all bases really are covered! The next Grand Designs Live will be held at London’s Excel Centre from 4th- 12th May 2013 with tickets available now.

Ideal Home Show

This is the most iconic of the British home improvement exhibitions, which is epitomised by the fact that when it is staged in 2013, the show will be in its 105th year. From the finishing touches that make a house a home through to the features necessary in a 21st Century bathroom, this is the perfect show to visit if you are looking for creative ideas to make your home ideal!
You have the opportunity to walk around a number of show gardens that are set up to showcase what you can do with any available space, as well as various rooms in your home, including how you can make your master bedroom the retreat you have always wanted it to be.
Next year’s show runs from the 15th March to the 1st April at Earls Court in London and promises to offer expert advice from TV stars such as George Clarke in addition to dedicated show areas that cater to every possible taste and need of the homeowner and/or DIY enthusiast.

Homebuilding and Renovating Show

If you have always dreamt of building your own home from scratch to get it just the way you want or have recently bought a property that requires large scale renovation work, this show is the one for you. No matter what the scale, size or stage you are currently at in your project, the Homebuilding and Renovating Show is designed to be on hand to offer expert tips and guidance to get you through and see the finished result you envisioned in the early design stages.
This show enables you to enjoy in-depth discussions with experts in a specially designated ‘Advice Centre’ whilst practical demonstrations and specialist master classes are ongoing throughout the event. You also have access to an array of innovative products that may just make your project that little bit easier or provide the finesse that the build may previously have been missing.
With various shows throughout the UK during 2013, you will never be too far away from the expert tuition you may so far have been missing out on that will help to get your self-build or renovation completed to the impeccably high standard you had in mind from the outset.

With these three shows plus plenty more in locations up and down the UK, if you are looking to create the perfect home, whether it involves building from the ground up or simply improving what you already have, there is plenty of opportunity to get helpful advice, guidance and an outsider’s viewpoint on your particular project.
