In fact, 34 days after its release they had sold nearly two million games. And, within the first week the game made 2.7 million dollars, which is 50% above its predecessor. The fact that this game has done so well is evidence of the popularity of MMORPG’s.<br />
<strong>Dust 514</strong><br />
The second MMORPG is the new title Dust 514. This game takes place on the ground battles on planets in the Eve Online universe. One of the reasons this game is so unique is because players are given a specialization based on their choices, as opposed to the class they belong to. Not much is known about the amount of revenue this game is projected to draw in, but Total Revenue (a popular gaming website) says the game is an “extremely promising and exciting prospect”. This is of course based upon the results from the beta release.<br />
<strong>SWTOR</strong><br />
Perhaps the most impressive MMORPG is Star Wars: The Old Republic. In fact, this game has one of the fastest growing player communities of all MMORPG games. The Star Wars franchise has of course been popular for years and years, but this game is thriving even by Star Wars standards. So, how impressive are the numbers? Well, after its release more than a million players spent 60 million hours playing the game. And, it’s said over 260 million quests have been completed by the players. For this reason, it isn’t hard to see how popular this game has become.<br />
The fans have indeed spoken; MMORPG’s are one of the most popular games in existence. The games on this list are the best of the best. By looking at these revenue figures we’ve seen how great the games really are, and why they’re the best out of the genre. So, if you find yourself wanting a new MMORPG it’s advised you choose one of these games.</p>
