Is Liposuction The Answer To Obesity?

Are you thinking of getting a liposuction? If you are, then better read on as you may just find what you’re looking for – the answers to most of your questions about liposuction.
What Is Liposuction?
Well, this procedure is very popular among the very famous people in the entertainment world. In layman’s term it is known as a procedure done to remove excess fat from any part of the body, usually in the belly part and also the thighs and the arms.
Medically, liposuction is the removal of fat from the body with the use of suction. During the liposuction procedure, the doctor uses tubes that are small, thin, and blunt-tipped also called cannula which are inserted in the skin through tiny cuts. Fat is then suctioned out through these tubes while the medical professional – a licensed doctor – targets specific fat deposits in the body by moving the tubes under the skin.
Liposuction is thought of by many as a very expensive and painful procedure. There is truth to these. It is an expensive procedure and a painful procedure as well. A person who has gone through liposuction will feel sore and will have bruises all over the parts of the body which was subjected to the procedure.
Currently, thanks to modern technology, liposuction as a procedure is easier, safer, easier, and not as painful anymore. Doctors specializing in liposuction are now using the latest techniques such as Tumescent liposuction and Ultrasound-assisted liposuction.
With Tumescent liposuction, a local anesthetic is injected to numb the area where the cannula or tube will be inserted. Then an anesthetic solution of lidocaine and epinephrine is injected into the fatty tissue prior to doing the liposuction procedure. The good news about Tumescent liposuction is that it does not require the patient to undergo general anesthesia.
For the utrasound-assisted liposuction, the doctor uses ultrasound to soften and dissolve the fat in the problem area. This in turn makes suctioning the fat easier. Doctors usually use the ultrasound-assisted liposuction technique when working on the areas in the upper abdomen, the sides, and the back.
Is Liposuction An Answer to Obesity?
A lot of people, of course those who can afford the cost, resort to liposuction to get rid of their excess body fat. Well there’s really nothing wrong with the procedure as long as they are done by medical experts. But doing it to solve obesity is not right as liposuction will not help a person lose weight. What it does is remove fat temporarily. According to medical and health experts, liposuction is primarily recommended to reshape one or more areas of the body. Reduction of weight is never the intention of liposuction. Doctors recommend liposuction to address or improve specific problem areas in the body that have not responded well to exercise and diet. In a nutshell, doctors are saying this over and over again: Liposuction is not an answer to obesity because it will not solve problems such as cellulite and even stretch marks.
